The order of life in a universe driven to disorder by the unrelenting march of entropy seems to some people a bit much to believe. Indeed, the Second Law of Thermodynamics states that events always proceed in a "downhill" direction.

Questions: Does life contradict the Second Law? Is there as simple explanation for the order of life?
